It is an American television series created by Mark Schwahn for The WB Television Network. The series was officially renewed by The CW for a ninth season on May 17, 2011. Two days later it was announced that season nine will be the final season. It premiered on Wednesday January 11, 2012 at 8:00 pm and aired its 13 episodes uninterrupted. The season will not receive a back-order of episodes as The CW and show runners have agreed that 13 episodes is the best number to finish on.

Throughout the episode, Dan had flashbacks of the many paths he'd chosen in life. Some were good moments, like the 0ne time he and Nathan actually played basketball without keeping score, but others were more tragic events Dan sincerely regrets, like shooting his brother. But just when you thought he'd pull through, Dan flatlined and was visited by none-other-than his brother, Keith. At this point, I thought it was appropriate to cry along with Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti), since she was the only person in tears the entire time.
