Experienced waitress Max Black meets her new co-worker, former rich-girl Caroline Channing, and puts her skills to the test at an old but re-emerging Brooklyn diner. Despite her initial distaste for Caroline, Max eventually softens and the two team up for a new business venture.

 

Max and Caroline try to befriend their upstairs neighbor, who Caroline believes is a hooker, so she doesn't rat them out to the landlord for a threatening note.

 Later on, Max and Caroline plan to attend a big fashion gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art where Martha Stewart is scheduled to be a guest, in an attempt to have her taste their cupcakes and get her seal of approval.

 

Max and Caroline believe that Sophie (Coolidge) is a prostitute; how else do you explain her odd hours and her strange notion to have a large group of scantily clad women in her apartment in the middle of the night. The level of bizarre in this scene is something we must discuss in more detail later.

 

The finale of 2 Broke Girls season 1 episode , and Martha Stewart Have a Ball," gave viewers exactly what they expect to see from the sitcom with a few twists thrown in for good measure. It is a comedy built on sexual innuendo and low-brow sex jokes. That is not a put down. Sometimes low-brow humor is exactly the kind of humor  fans needs at the end of a long day. 

 

The new neighbor is played by the very talented Jennifer Coolidge who’s shown in the American Pie movies, in working with Christopher Guest and in Legally Blonde that she is a gifted comic talent. Sucked into the comic void of 2 Broke Girls however, Coolidge’s talent is sapped by a horrific accent and the hack plot I’ve been complaining about.
