The Vampire Diaries' season finale ends on a game-changing cliffhanger, and it's just one of many huge moments from the third season. Season three of The Vampire Diaries has come to an end, folks, and forgive me if I am still sitting here with my jaw wide open. The finale is eventful, to say the least, and like seasons past, we saw the deaths of a couple of characters — along with the red herring deaths of a couple of characters. 

 

The end of The Vampire Diaries Seasons 1-3  is nearly here and we're positively befuddled after seeing these pics of the season finale. It looks like this will be a major flashback episode, complete with Aunt Jenna and Elena's parents! Given Elena's cheerleading uniform, these are definitely from a time pre-Salvatore brothers, but that's not to say the finale will be totally Stefan and Damon-free;

 

 

I darn near forgot about The Vampire Diaries. The whole show just totally slipped my mind! What even happened in the previous episode? Something something wooden stakes something. See? Pffft. Nothing. It's all gone now. But it's almost like that doesn't even matter because this week's episode was perfect. Man alive did I love this week's episode. If this season was a pack of Starburst, "Heart of Darkness" was definitely one of the pink ones. Definitely the best episode since "Our Town." The "epic kiss" was fine, but that's not even what I'm talking about. It's more just that this episode was full of nice moments and thrilling dynamics and returning characters and cool surprises and is it just me or was everyone wearing slightly tighter T-shirts this time? Just a recipe for success, basically.
