Family Guy Seasons 1-9 DVD is a story about adventure. The series centers on the dysfunctional Griffin family, which consists of father Peter (MacFarlane), mother Lois (Alex Borstein), daughter Meg (Mila Kunis; Lacey Chabert, 1999), son Chris (Seth Green), baby Stewie (MacFarlane) and Brian (MacFarlane), the family pet. The show is set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island, and exhibits much of its humor in the form of cutaway gags that often lampoon American culture.  Family Guy has been nominated for 12 Primetime Emmy Awards and 11 Annie Awards, and has won three of each.

Several aspects of Family Guy were inspired by the Larry shorts. Early episodes based much of their comedy on Stewie's "super villain" antics, such as his constant plans for total world domination, his evil experiments, plans and inventions to get rid of things he dislikes, and his constant attempts at matricide.
